The 124gr +P+ Hydra-Shok from Federal was a good performer but I don’t think they help it become any more. The outdated Winchester Silvertip 115gr JHP was notorious for overexpanding, fragmenting, and failure to penetrate adequately. The old Federal 115gr +P+ “9BPLE” load also experienced a tendency to overexpand and fragment, rather than pen
